Starting a program of massage and training with Chuck Hyde is like suddenly opening a stuck window. You get a whole new view. And more. You not only get a new fresh-air vision out to the landscape of where you want to go, you also see inside to a new internal understanding of what has been in your way, how to get beyond it, and how to let go of the strain. Chuck helps you get more than relieved, more than refreshed. He gets you recharged. History: Chuck grew up in Carbondale, IL, with good health in his DNA. His father is a medical doctor, and his mother is a nurse. When he came to Boulder, CO, in 2000, he was drawn to Whole Foods Market where he went to work in the nutritional supplement section. During seven years there, Chuck learned in a demanding environment how to use nutritional supplementation in the process of healing and wellness. When you work with Chuck, you enlist his years of experience in helping people work through a myriad of health issues. While maintaining a full time job, he attended Naropa University where he studied Tai Chi Chuan under Bataan Faigao. He incorporates elements of his Tai Chi and Qi Gong study into his personal training style. Chuck brings to his sessions with you his many interests and practices, including meditation, and a constant pursuit of knowledge and research into the healing and movement field.
Massage Therapy: Seasoned “massage getters,” those who have had ten or more therapists work on them, naturopaths and other professional health care providers choose Chuck. Their high regard for him comes from the accuracy of his approach. Chuck’s precision derives from his profound understanding of biomechanics and anatomy blended with his uncanny intuition and ability to bring multiple issues into focus. His years of personal practice and his close study of physical and mental workouts with Sam Iannetta, Master Trainer and founder of Functional Fitness, have given a deeply transforming quality to his touch. But you don’t have to run the gauntlet of other therapists first to feel something new in your first session with Chuck. He is successful in addressing both acute and chronic pain patterns. He helps you open that window on any combination of issues: rotator cuff, hips and the entire spine, specifically multiple disc herniations, hyper-mobility anywhere, immobility anywhere, sciatica, bunions, disc degeneration, plantar fasciitis, chronic knee pain, injury rehabilitation and prevention, breathing restrictions, spondylolisthesis, sacral sheer, whiplash, carpal tunnel, acute/chronic headaches, and impingement syndromes. He will show you how good you can feel when you combine therapeutic massage with functional analysis and functional fitness. People say it’s like magic. But the real-world results come from his potent understanding of soft tissue dysfunction and how first to treat that effectively. Then, by teaching your body higher quality alignment and movement patterns, he helps you gain and maintain a whole new sense of healthy awareness, balance and stability. The bonus is that he shows you how to keep it. You begin to take on and internalize the “Chuck intuition” that will continue to serve you well. So with a tune-up here and there, you become aware of how to analyze and optimize the constant changes we all go through. Personal Training: If you love learning, you’ll thrive in workouts with Chuck. As a Functional Fitness trainer with Sam Iannetta since 2003, he loves showing you the “why” as well as the “how” of healthy movement. But this is more than a program, more than an intellectual theory. Chuck gets you through the thought process and into the “animal” hard wiring of moving as naturally as a kid. Together you go for results. And you get them through therapeutic massage, functional corrective exercise and constant analysis. Intuitively, he activates your ability to heal, teaching your body to recognize good tension from bad. Yes, there is good tension. Chuck’s key is to reorganize your tensional structure to allow greater ease of movement. As this process unfolds, you will feel more energized, more alive, and more vital. You’ll understand how to maintain your new lifestyle with a gym or without. When your body acclimates to movement, balance, and function, you regain a life more capable of handling stress of all kinds. Chuck uses this to bring out and activate an interior knowledge that you already have naturally: your innate sense that handling stress is your most significant skill in avoiding premature aging. Chuck’s Vision: First of all, Chuck sees your potential to be happy. And it’s a potential that doesn’t just belong to the young. He enthusiastically opens new horizons for seniors and young people alike. He lives in a world of enhancing life, and the non-intimidating, empowering environment of the Functional Fitness center is his native habitat. You’ll find yourself coming more alive here, too, expanding every present moment into a healthier future. Engaging your own personal evolution of health in this way is the premier approach to preventive medicine. A body that moves well, ages well. Chuck sees you gaining a long lasting, vital life and true freedom by gaining ease of movement. When movement is pain free, you can live a life where you think less of limits. You think more of possibilities. Chuck helps you open up those possibilities, promote your happiness, and educate your body to move as an integrated whole. You and he together make a mutual contribution to our overall social health. Find out how quality of movement brings more than just good physical health, how it also lends a powerful hand to your peace of mind and happiness. Open the window. Be happy. Give Chuck a call.
