Since the opening in 2002 of Sam Iannetta’s Functional Fitness we have been challenging Boulder’s entrepreneurs to think before they move. The goal is to challenge the body’s movement patterns to change for the better before worrying about muscle mass and looks. When I came in to see Sam, I was in tremendous back pain. I had been to many specialists that all stated the same thing; I would have to learn to live with the pain. Misha Plam founder of Sievers / Ionics and Alpha Sniffer. At Functional Fitness the goal is better quality of movement not just quantity. My wife met with Sam on the recommendation of a close friend and immediately felt changes due to his recommendations. I met with him one week later about knee and hip pain that had been plaguing me for years and within a half session I felt more fluid and agile and my problem had changed. Ron Kertzner Owner of Choice Point. Mark Rockhind came to Sam from word of mouth a good friend and racquetball partner. He is a large part of my long-term health plan. The back pain that had me second- guessing my movements for over fifteen years was gone completely within 3 months. I not only did I have no pain but was I was moving better than ever. I am at the 3-year point and have increased muscle mass significantly and am definitely stronger and better built than I have ever been. Scott Ohlgren of author and owner of How Health Works, I came to Sam because of a strange tendency to pull my ribs and neck out of place when I was working out. Sam’s guidance has taken me to all new highs in strength, size and shape while correcting some motor patterns that caused my pain. Sam’s concepts are an amazing melting pot of movement concepts that he has studied for over 20 years. He has combined stretching, strengthening, dynamic movement, balance and agility and rehabilitation to create the first exercise programs with a brain. “It has to be backed in science and also make sense or you will not find it in my facility.” Sam’s Iannetta’s tag line has always been when knowledge and experience meet common sense.
