Functional Fitness was never about repeating poor movement patterns we find in real life. It was never about carrying sandbags, flipping tires, banging balls into walls or performing unhelpful, damaging movements over and over again. FUNCTIONAL FITNESS is about improving human function through normalizing range of motion, aligning the bodies joints, balancing muscular strength, improving balance and coordination, and improving agility through knowledge, awareness and EXERCISE. When you add Sam’s patented Fitness Longevity® concepts you get a special secret sauce of improved gait and posture while improving performance in all tasks we perform on a daily basis.


Functional Fitness, The Company...
Functional Fitness LLC was founded in 2002, doing business as, Sam Iannetta’s Functional Fitness and Wellness Center. Sam had many sources of capital made available to him to open and operate his business including a Business Loan backed by the Small Business Association SBA, friends, family, prepaid sessions and client support. Many people supported his idea of what fitness could be and came together to make Sam’s ideas soar. Everyone Sam presented to saw a huge difference in what the world of fitness was about and what his ideas could bring to life. Sam found the building, performed all of the tenant finish and purchased all the equipment in Functional Fitness today. He even took part in equipment design and of course all the layout. Sam and his wife Lara have owned and operated Functional Fitness since inception in 2002.
What to expect from a session...
Trainers will take a long analytical look at how you move. You can discuss your medical history, current condition, any indications and restrictions. Then they will watch you move. You will perform simple day to day movements and they will document what they are seeing on a specialized chart. The trainers will then talk to you about what they see and what can be done about it. There are no contracts to purchase sessions, no pressure to get more sessions, no sales pitch. Just great information and a desire to help you make changes for the better. You can sign up for as many or as few sessions as you like but there is no rush or pressure in any way. Many people use Functional Fitness as their personal health plan and some use us as a tool to find out what is going on. We love seeing our clients using equipment at home, the office, other gyms and see many people who come in as often as they like. Membership is also available but not necessary for seeing a trainer.
